If you want to help conserve our natural resources, you have to understand people.

One day I may be reviewing a proposal for a new public access site on one of the Chesapeake Bay rivers and the next I may be working with partners on mapping offshore migration patterns.

With America being the world's largest trading nation and most of that trade occurring by sea, the maritime industry is growing.

I was drawn to natural resource management because of my interest in the sciences and conservation of the natural world.

I provide assistance to aquaculture producers in Indiana and Illinois as well as in selected African countries (Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania) in pursuing and realizing economic and market development opportunities from fish farming.

I love the fact that my job requires that I go out and work with people from different walks of life that do a wide variety of things. I get to do a lot of interesting things that most lawyers would never dream of doing.

In recent years, my primary driver has been the need to improve the link between biological and ecological sciences and the human dimension.

I enjoy working and collaborating with people who are also engaged and enthusiastic about protecting and conserving our natural resources for future generations.

My work is largely driven by the projects that federal agencies are undertaking or permitting.
